The following matches were taped on Monday and Tuesday for the WWE Superstars show, which debuts tonight at 7:00 p.m. CT on WGN America. 1. The Undertaker defeated Matt Hardy by countout. Jeff Hardy attacked Matt after the match and threw him back inside the ring for Undertaker to deliver a choke slam. Undertaker looked to be in good shape. He received a huge pop coming out and I don't think anyone was expecting him out so early in the evening. This would be the first and last time we would see him. 2. Cody Rhodes defeated Shane McMahon by DQ. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler were on commentary for this match. It was a long match with Shane dominating. He hit Cody with a chair and also hit the Coast-to-Coast finisher. 3. Christian pinned Finlay to become the No. 1 contender to the ECW Title. The ECW announcing team were on commentary. Christian hit the Killswitch (a/k/a Unprettier) to win. Afterward, Christian and Finlay shook hands and embraced in a half hug. Christian will challenge Jack Swagger for the ECW Title at the Backlash pay-per-view. Powell's POV: As previously noted, all three broadcast teams were featured on the show calling matches from their respective brands. Thanks to Dot Net readers Brian Oglesby for recapping the first match, and Chris Newman for passing along the details of the second and third match.
